Before diving in and spending time creating 2 or 3 mockups for clients to consider, this site puts the case for starting with style tiles – similar to mood boards used by interior designers, or their swatches. Style tiles include colours, text styling and words to describe a site – eg minimalist, modern, funny, inviting etc all designed to prompt discussing and to understand the client goals.

Could be a good way to invest a little time upfront to get a better understanding from the client, and save design time latter.
